The European Commission is pushing deployment of the Positive Energy Districts across Europe through a funding opportunity that is currently available on the EU Funding and Tenders Portal. The funding opportunity is called the Innovative approaches for the deployment of Positive Energy Districts.
With a total budget ranging between €6 - €33 million, this call seeks to fund Innovation Actions, Research and Innovation Actions and even Coordination and Support Actions that will demonstrate how districts can achieve an annual positive energy balance while exporting excess renewable energy beyond their boundaries.
