The European City Facility (EUCF) is preparing a new series of funding calls to help cities and municipalities translate energy and climate plans into viable investment projects. A total of €11.1 million will support 185 local authorities, with selected beneficiaries receiving €60,000 together with technical assistance to develop investment concepts capable of attracting further financing.
The first call is expected to open in October 2026, followed by two further calls provisionally scheduled for April and October 2027. The new phase will expand the scope of eligible actions to include local heating and cooling plans alongside energy efficiency and clean energy investments, while also extending geographical coverage to Montenegro, Moldova and North Macedonia. The initiative builds on previous EUCF support to more than 400 local authorities and aims to help cities bridge the gap between climate planning and investment-ready projects.
