Our ASCEND consortium partner, Energy Cities, will host its Annual Forum in Guimarães, Portugal between April 28th - April 30th, 2026.
The forum will be a new edition of the ‘Grafting Cities’ series, which aims to highlight how cities resemble an ever-evolving tree: adapting to each season, facing challenges and bearing new fruit year after year.
This year's theme will be called "nurturing the roots" which reflects a resource-constrained European economy and national budgets, democratic backsliding and societal challenges. To ensure strong, resilient urban societies, the event will showcase how to strengthen the roots of cities to prepare for ambitious energy and climate policies. Energy Cities will present concrete strategies that will help the cities grow strong and move closer to climate neutrality.
